Department of Central and Information Services
Formally the Department of Information and Technology Services, as of June 1, 2023, the Department will expand its services and commitment to municipal staff and become the Department of Central and Information Services.
Department Mission:
The Department of Central and Information Services (DCIS) is committed to providing a professional level of service and support to all municipal staff in an effort to create department efficiencies with the ultimate goal of providing the best possible service to the residents and businesses living and working in Port Chester.
DCIS provides centralized services for Village Departments in four distinct areas:
Information Services/Security Division
- To provide technical support services to Village departments
- To enhance communications, collaboration and the flow of information
- To provide public access to Village services and information in an efficient manner
- To manage and optimize software licensing programs
- To manage technology vendor relationships and contracts
- To draft and implement information technology policies and procedures approved from the Village Manager
- To provide access to new technology
- To provide efficient storage of data
- To provide a high level of cyber security and privacy
- To provide business continuity and data back up services
Central Services/Procurement Division
- To procure goods and services used in the day to day operation of staff and building maintenance
- To maintain a central storeroom for office and cleaning supplies
- To provide assistance with department-specific purchases with respect to the Village procurement policy and GML 103 and 104b
- To assist with bid scopes of work and grant administration as requested
PCTV - Municipal Television
- To manage and maintain the Village's municipal television stations, Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon FIOS channel 43
- To manage and maintain the streaming and on-demand archive of Board of Trustees, Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings
- To manage and maintain the back end network, servers, software and security required to run PCTV
In-House Document Scanning and ECMS Services
- Back file scanning assistance for all departments on specific document related projects
- Laserfiche project specific workflow, template and application integration assistance
